Pricing Updates for Legacy Plans


EMAIL 1: 🕒 Important Account Update: Toolr Time Clock Price Change


Hi admin,


We’re reaching out to let you know that the price of your Toolr Time Clock plan will increase to include a $2.50 fee per active employee. On August 1, 2019 we started our phased roll out of the pricing transition for customers, and when COVID hit we decided to pause the phased roll out for a year to do what we could to help our legacy customers. Your account is in the last group to transition to the current pricing model, effective your first billing cycle after August 1st.


At the same time, we will be releasing our Toolr Plus tier to all users. Due to your long standing history with Toolr Time Clock, we’ll be upgrading your account to Toolr Plus at the lower Toolr Starter tier price through the end of the year.


To minimize the impact of the new pricing model to your account, we encourage you to mark any employees that aren’t currently using the time clock system as “Inactive”.

  1. You can mark an employee inactive by logging into your admin portal (app.mytoolr.com).

  2. Navigate to the Employee section on the left-hand side.

  3. Selectan employee, then select to edit the employee in the top right-hand corner.

  4. There, you will be able to mark that employee as inactive and avoid the charge for that employee for the month.

  5. We recommend you mark all inactive employees before the pricing transition date of August 1st to prevent any unnecessary charges.


These price changes not only allow us to continue offering our services, but also help pay for improvements. In the last few years we’ve released: breaks, overtime, grouping by crews, single employee device tracking, a new mobile app for iOS and Android, our new website (www.mytoolr.com), excel exporting, printable PDF employee sheets, employee messaging (just launched), people directory (just launched), and much more to come still this year.

We wanted to follow up on our last email announcing Toolr Time Clock's August 1st price change. Below is more information about what's behind the change and what it means for the future of our product.


Over the last few years, you've taught us that you value Toolr Time Clock's simplicity, and we want to reassure you — it’s our priority to make sure simplicity stays at our core, and that our product remains the easiest and most cost effective digital time keeping solution on the market.


The Beginning

A couple years ago we released the syncing functionality at $10/mo flat rate as a means to test the value of the tool and gain market feedback for a simple time tracking solution.


Since Then

We've made more than a dozen significant improvements to our platform based on your feedback:

  • Overtime

  • Grouping by crews

  • Single employee device tracking

  • New mobile app for iOS

  • Created a mobile app for Android

  • New website (www.mytoolr.com)

  • Excel exporting

  • Printable PDF employee sheets

  • Employee messaging (just launched)

  • People directory (just launched)

  • Migrated our whole infrastructure to amazon web services for increased reliability

More system reliability, better customer support, and new features to make your operations and workflows more efficient.


Bottom Line

We are moving out of our testing phase and into full production to improve the product based on your feedback. If you're someone that just wants the minimal clock in and clock out features, this is a signifiant lift to maintain the syncing and reliability of reports and requires moor resources to maintain ongoing for you. Our new model will still be less expensive than our competitors, half the price in most cases, so we will maintain the best bang for the buck. Even as we improve the value of our tool, we have no plans of getting rid of our low-cost simple timekeeping solution as an entry point into our platform, for years to come.
